“A new year. Three hundred and sixty-five beautiful mornings and starlit evenings, fifty-two promising weeks, and twelve transformative months full of possibilities.” – via The Washington Post, author unknown
Happy New Year friends!
I hope you all enjoyed your holiday season and are looking forward to all the great things in store for the year ahead. I’ll admit, our 2017 is off to a bit of a rough start. Just after Christmas, Jordan had a long overdue surgery that did not go as smoothly as we hoped. He has been hit with a few setbacks and one more surgery to face in a few months, but he is home, recovering well, and handling the challenge like a champ. Just feel sorry for him that he gets me for a nurse – I was not blessed with an abundance of patience. We’re figuring it out though. 🙂
2016 was not my favorite year for a variety of reasons, so despite the rocky start I have high hopes for the new promises of 2017. One of my goals for last year, was to add a little more exercise and healthy eating back into my life. It took a little starting, stopping, and starting again, but I finally fell into a routine of early morning workouts (hello 5am!) five days a week – the diet still needs some work, so that’s on the list of goals for this year.
I also want to give myself more time for creative thinking and exploring all the things I love to do. One of which is blogging here with all of you. So I hope to spend some time fine tuning how things look here at Rustic & Woven, and re-focusing what it is I want to share and do here every week. Anything you would like to see more of, please let me know!
It’s always fun to look back and see what posts my readers responded to the most from the previous year. Room tours and decorating tips seem to be among the most loved, so I of course will provide plenty of that within the year ahead. I’m also hoping to get that office finished up, that front porch (and landscaping!) completed, and maybe knock out one or both bedrooms. We will just have to see what the new year brings, but for now here is a look at some of the most loved from 2016:
Chalk Painted Herb Planters
Spring Decorating – The Dining Room
Four Simple Ways to Style a Coffee Table
A Simple and Casual Summer Living Room
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Key Element to a Cozy Home

I wish you all the very best in the new year and hope your 2017 is full of health, happiness and beautiful memories made with family and friends. Cheers to a new year!
