I talked earlier this year about revamping my home office.
At that time, I was working from home part time and used the space for work, for home, and for this blog – and unfortunately it was failing to function well on all three counts. I was running out of room, organization was non-existent, and it just no longer met my needs.
So, I started to work up a plan to make the space more user friendly for all things I needed it to do, and then I ended up getting pulled back into the “office” office full time.
I pretty much abandoned that whole office makeover and stopped coming into the room altogether.
Unless it was to drop some random something-or-other that I recently brought home and didn’t know what to do with.
Which means the room that was already a bit of a mess, became an even bigger mess – and I wanted to go in there less and less every day.
Tired of paying bills, sorting the mail, and writing this blog from the dining room table for the last four months, I decided it was finally time to whip that little room back into shape.
Today, I’m happy to tell you that the whole space has been cleaned out and emptied, a desk has been purchased, and a gallon of fresh new paint is waiting at the ready to go up on the walls this week.
I want this room to be light and bright, accented with all the weathered and worn wood tones I love – and I want a healthy dose of the old mixed in with some new.
In other words, I want it to feel just like the rest of our house. 😉
While my room won’t look exactly like any of these rooms I’m about to show you, I borrowed little bits of design and inspiration from each one as I was putting my plan together.
I think they are sure to inspire you too. 🙂
I will be sharing the stages of this makeover with you as they are completed – so look forward to seeing more of this room soon.
Have a beautiful week! 🙂
