I really haven’t changed much in the format or layout of this blog since I started last year. Overall, I’m happy with it, but there are some things I would like to tweak a bit – one of which is to add a FAQ page.
I seem to get emails and questions on the same handful of topics on an almost daily basis, and while I don’t mind answering those questions at all (please reach out any time you have a question) – I do think I should make it easier for my readers to find the things that interest them.
While I try my best to respond quickly, it sometimes can take me a day or two, and I know how it is – when we want answers, we want them NOW, right? 🙂
So today, I thought I would do a quick summary of a few of the most commonly asked questions. That way, if you’ve been wondering some of the same things, but haven’t had a chance to ask, now you won’t have to.
WHAT PAINT COLORS DID YOU USE?
Hands down the number one question. Here’s a quick rundown…
Living Room – Edgecomb Gray (Benjamin Moore)
Dining Room – Cloud Nine (above the chair rail) / Simply White (below chair rail) (Benjamin Moore)
Entry, Stair Wall, and Upstairs Hallway – Cloud Cover (Benjamin Moore)
Master Bedroom – Pediment (Sherwin Williams)
Fireplace, Ceilings, Doors, and Trim – Simply White (Benjamin Moore)
WHERE IS YOUR SOFA FROM?
We have the PB Basic 3 piece small sectional from Pottery Barn, and we chose the brushed canvas fabric in the color Natural. We have had this sofa for just over a year, and could not be more pleased with it.
You can find it here.
WHERE DID YOU PURCHASE YOUR JUTE RUGS?
I have the same jute rug in the living room and our bedroom, and I purchased them from RugsUSA. I LOVE this rug. You can find it here:
I have a different style jute rug in the dining room, that I purchased from Pottery Barn. You can find that rug here.

WHERE DID YOU PURCHASE THE PLATE RACK IN YOUR DINING ROOM?
Ok…so maybe this is the number one question I receive. It may be a tossup between this one and the paint colors. 😉
I am sorry to say, this is one of a kind. I had no idea when we put this little plate rack together that it would be as popular as it is. I found the box at my favorite shop and the baskets are from World Market. I’m not sure exactly what the box is, but I think it may be some sort of drying box or sifter box – I’m 100% sure there are others like it floating around out there – you just need to be in the right place at the right time to snag one. 😉
You can read more about this project here.
WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT BENCH IN YOUR DINING ROOM?
Sadly, this is another one of those one of a kind deals. Jordan built this bench for me a few years ago. I have told him repeatedly that he needs to do one of two things – 1) go into business making and selling them because people ask where they can get one all the time, or 2) build at least one more so we can share a tutorial – it was a pretty easy build.
FYI – he likes the sound of option two better than option one. 😉
So those seem to be the most consistently popular questions. I have said this before, and I’ll say it again – my “door” is always always open. If you’re ever curious about something you see here, or even if you want a second opinion on a design dilemma (I ask for your opinions all the time, so I’d love to repay the favor 🙂 ) – I am more than happy to help. Leave a comment, send a question via my Contact page, or email me directly at email@example.com. I love hearing from you. 🙂
Have a beautiful day friends!
