The dining room is now painted white and two unfortunate things have come to light: 1) The kitchen looks extra yucky and tired (I didn’t even know that was possible ), and 2) I now want to paint the rest of the house white because I love it oh-so-much. 🙂
Say hello to Cloud Nine (Benjamin Moore):
It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but there is a subtle difference above and below the chair rail – the chair rail and everything below stayed Simply White (also Benjamin Moore). It’s also a lot warmer in person than it appears here.
One of these days I’ll actually sit down and learn what all those fancy settings are on my camera so I can achieve a brighter picture. 🙂
I am completely in love with this color. It’s a soft and pretty white with just the right neutral undertones – not too gray, not too beige, not too pink, not too yellow. It’s just right.
I’m already thinking where else I might like to use it. The bedroom maybe??
At this point, I’m not making too many other changes in the room. I want to play around with some of the wall décor and maybe re-style the open shelves, maybe change up the window treatments, etc., but I think I’ll wait and think about it all for a bit.
I still want to move forward with my little refresh plan (you can read that here), but I will say with that gray gone, I’m pretty content where this room is at for the moment. Not that the previous color wasn’t lovely – it just always had me feeling a little…meh.
So first step was paint – check! Next up is chairs – I’ll have an update on those next week. 🙂
