Hello friends! I know I’m all off my normal Monday, Wednesday, Friday blog schedule, BUT I finally have my Christmas tour ready to share with you today – yay!! I told myself I was going to simplify my holiday decorating this year – but perhaps I need to learn the meaning of “simplify” – it was still a lot more work than I anticipated.
I wanted a cozy/country/cottage type vibe this year, so I went with a traditional Christmas color scheme using lots of red, white and green. I mixed new and old décor, vintage pieces, and both fresh and faux greenery throughout – and now the house feels super cozy and festive. I can’t wait to relax and enjoy it now that the work is done. 🙂
Let’s get started, shall we?
The entry way received a pop of Christmas color with a simple red pillow and a couple of glitter initial ornaments tied to our baskets.
I love draping my favorite scarf over the hooks – it fits in so well!
Cedar garland is draped along the staircase and finished off with a string of rustic bells…
In the living room, Christmas plaid and festive pillows brighten up the sofa…
The red and white coordinate nicely with the traditional trimmings of our tree…
I wanted lots of candlelight across the mantel this year.
Old books help vary height and add texture, and a swag of garland across the front keeps the fireplace looking cozy.
A simple Christmas vignette over on the apothecary cabinet finishes off the front of the room…
I carried the same cozy theme into the dining room.
This room tends to be very dark, so bright and cheery pillows add a pop of color (this woody car pillow might be my favorite pillow ever :)).
Cedar garland framing the doorway not only looks pretty, but it’s the perfect place to display Christmas greetings…
A little more candlelight and greens across the table, and this room is feeling festive too!
I think this is the earliest I have ever been done decorating. I told myself I was going to do what I could do through this weekend and then stop so I could enjoy the season. Is it perfect? No, but it sure does feel good to have it out of the way. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed the tour – I have a few more things to show you in the upcoming days/weeks ahead.
So how is your holiday decorating coming along? Have you finished…? Just getting started…? Not even going there yet…? 🙂
P.S. I just couldn’t resist sharing a pic of this sweet pup. 🙂
