I am beginning to realize that this bedroom makeover will probably take some time. More time than I really thought it would. I’m happy with how it’s progressing, but I can see that it may be a while before I consider it “finished”. If I can ever really consider it finished, that is – it’s not really a concept I’m familiar with when it comes to our home – but I kind of like it that way. Our spaces are always evolving. 🙂
That said, it is starting to feel like a new room, and I like where it’s headed. I thought I’d give you a peek at some of the details today. Want to see?
For the price, I thought it was a great bargain. I especially love the knot detail used in place of buttons to secure the cover and shams.
We recently moved the entire furniture arrangement around, and placed one of my favorite jute rugs down to soften and ground the space around the bed. I know jute rugs are not always the softest underfoot, so they may not be the most popular choice for a bedroom, but this one is soft and cushy and I like the feel of the texture on my feet as I walk across it.
I have been working on a dresser…aannnnd… it hasn’t turned out quite like I hoped. I’m trying to decide what I want to do with it next, but in the meantime we’re enjoying the additional storage from it. 🙂
I picked up this beautiful little painting at my favorite shop earlier this summer. I was immediately drawn to the warm colors and shabby frame. I wasn’t sure where I would hang it at the time, but I think it goes perfectly in this room.
The nightstands are a topic for another day. I love the function of our current stands, the look is just maybe not what I’m going for, but like I said – a topic for another day.
Despite that, I’m decorating them anyway! 🙂 I found this little guy at the flea market this year – I love the potbellied shape and perfectly aged patina. I think it makes a great little “vase” to hold a couple of (faux) flowers, don’t you?
The room already feels so much more relaxing and soothing – the perfect place to unwind. Even working on it has been relaxing – I’ve been taking my time and making changes little by little. So, what do you think of our bedroom makeover so far?
