A week ago or so, Jordan and I braved the cold and took a stroll through our local flea market for the morning. I think the weather kept some of the vendors away that day, because we didn’t find as much as we usually do, but we still managed to come home with a few new treasures – making it a worthwhile trip in my book.
I grabbed this crock right away.
Crocks like these are fairly easy to come by and can be used for so many things throughout the house. I’m not completely sure what I will be using this one for yet, but I’m thinking about using it to hold a house plant (most likely it would be faux since I have a terrible time keeping real plants alive – somebody once told me they need to be watered? I tend to forget that part. 🙂 ).
Jordan spotted this old iron horse bit from the same vendor selling the crock.
Before you ask, I have no idea what I’m going to do with it – most likely I will just use it to add a little bit of interest to something around the house. Right now it has currently taken up residence on our bookshelves.
I once saw a picture where a wall featured a collection of old pie tins. I loved the look, so I’ve been picking these tins up whenever I spot them.
And last but not least, I grabbed this old wood floor register.
I liked the color of the wood, and thought it could add some interest somewhere in the house. I just haven’t figured out where. Jordan and I both thought it could make an interesting pot rack if hung from the ceiling over an island; however, we don’t have a kitchen large enough to pull that off, so I imagine I will hang it on a wall somewhere. I think it would be beautiful on its own or as a backdrop for a wreath or some other piece of art. What would you use this piece for? I would love to hear what you come up with. Share with me below!
P.S. Please pretend you don’t see the dog hair in the above photos. I am currently at war with dog hair in this house – clearly I am losing. 🙂
